All right, whoever is listening. I have done absolutely everything in my power to make the best of a difficult situation, but even I have my limits. So I'd like a good old fashioned group brainstorm, if you please. The situation could not be more dire.

[ She turns the camera around to reveal... a fish. Sitting in a tank. Not a particularly big fish, but... sweet Celestia, if this isn't one of the ugliest damn things you've ever seen.

The tank itself is your basic bowl shape, but it's got all manner of plants and tiny dwellings inside. Sitting next to the tank are some sopping wet miniature clothes that look like at least some decent effort have been put into them. ]

This little darling is in desperate need of a makeover, and... well, I'm afraid I'm at a bit of a loss. Has anypony got any ideas for how to make him look absolutely ravishing? Or... well, at least suitably impressive! ... For a fish.

Your best bet would be Goldenrod or Celadon for that. Their Department Store have much more variety than the marts. I know there was some available two years ago, but I bought so much back then that I've not yet run out.

In that case, I recommend weekly massages. They give the scales a healthy glow, and a relaxed fish always looks more elegant.

A top-notch idea! I admit I've never massaged a fish before, but it always works for me and the girls, so... why not?

It feels somewhat strange at first, but once you learn all the tricks it becomes a nice little team activity. You can even ask the rest of your Pokémon to join in.

Oh. [ She only pauses for a moment. ] Well, the goal of all of this is to make him more comfortable, anyway. [ She keeps massaging the little creature, who closes his eyes and bubbles contentedly. ]

It's an adjustment, but I'm... managing! I'm much more used to using magic.

That sounds like a very practical spell to know. It's a shame that option is not available to you here.

Oh, it is! And it would be extremely useful to know if there are any gems around here. But if you humans have learned how to use hands, it can't be too difficult!

Being born with them does give us an advantage. As far as gem goes... There are evolution stones in the Department Store, but they're not quite gems as we generally consider them.

Hmm. Well I am looking for anything that will make a gown look absolutely fabulous. But evolution stones are more for practical pokemon purposes, are they not? It seems sort of a waste to use them on dresses.

They'd also be too large to be comfortable, and expensive to boot. But I believe I've once heard someone mention they had found pearls for sale.
